My name is Sara Emerson. I have a sweet little family and we have lived in the mountains of Colorado since 2012.  In my free time I enjoy tending my beloved flower garden, paddling my kayak, and eating all the dark chocolate.

My husband and I bought our first home in 2013 after spending 5 years traveling with his work. In 2014 I began my de-cluttering journey out of total frustration when I noticed many household items lying around that just didn’t have a designated place.  I was constantly running around trying to pick up and put things away, but I knew I wanted more out of my days than cleaning and relocating clutter. In desperation I declared I would rather move into a tiny house to reduce our possessions and have forced organization, than to continue living in our chronic mess. I even went so far as to remove as many flat surfaces(think tables, shelves, and desks) as I could so we just wouldn’t have a chance or a place to set anything down. I really mean it when I say I was desperate!

The moment life changed …

I discovered the KonMari Method on July 4th of 2015 while scrolling articles on the internet. It stood out so much that I decided I should read it aloud to my husband. Prior to me finishing the article, he had already opened a cabinet in the kitchen and started pulling things out to discard. We were both “in” from the moment we learned how it worked. It was an unlikely Independence Day as I found a release from keeping things because I felt guilty, obligated somehow, or because “it might be useful some day!” I found my own version of FREEDOM and have not looked back. My friends quickly learned about the KonMari method as I shared with them the wonderful positive changes it brought out in me, both physically in my space as well as in my mental health. After months of me talking endlessly about it, one beloved friend suggested I should become a consultant. In August of 2016, I officially began my effort towards making home organization and The KonMari Method my career. Of all the days in a year, on July 4th, 2017 I became the 16th Certified KonMari Consultant in the United States!

Because I have done it myself(miracles DO come true!), I know I can help you discover your own joy and freedom in having a tidy home, for good.
